A HANDFUL of protesters turned up at Manchester United's Carrington training ground to demand the Glazer family sell up.

And this time there also appeared to be a message to the players that they are "not fit to wear the shirt".

This included a reference to the legendary Busby Babes squad of 1958, eight of whom died in the Munich Air Disaster.

Fans held up two banners, with others also letting off red flares outside the training centre.

Police were called in, but the protest was said to be "peaceful" with around 30 people present.

A United statement read: "There was a small and peaceful protest outside the Carrington training ground today.

"We respect the opinions of fans and remain committed to strengthening our engagement with them."

Tensions are at fever pitch at Old Trafford with the team languishing in seventh place in the Premier League.

They face a mammoth task to make the top-four and that vital Champions League spot.

United are currently six points off fourth-place Tottenham, but Arsenal, in fifth, have games in hand on both teams.

And even potential incoming boss Erik ten Hag appears to be well aware of the problems at the three-time Champions League winners.

Technical director Darren Fletcher and football director John Murtough flew to Amsterdam last month to interview the Ajax boss about taking the Old Trafford hotseat for next season.

And SunSport can reveal the incredible detail of that meeting as the straight-talking Dutchman gave the United chiefs a no-holds-barred dressing down.

Both Fletcher and Murtough flew back to Manchester in complete shock after Ten Hag laid bare exactly what he feels is wrong with United.

One high-placed Old Trafford source said: “It was like United were being interviewed by Ten Hag rather than the other way round.”

Caretaker boss Ralf Rangnick is poised to move into a consultancy role at the end of the season.

There is also an anti-Glazer protest planned for the Norwich game on Saturday afternoon.
