Samuel Eto’o race row: Former Chelsea, Everton and Barcelona star dropped by Turkish club Antalyaspor in racism row
Cameroonian striker will not feature for Super Lig club following comments he made on Instagram
SAMUEL ETO’O will not play for Antalyaspor until further notice following a bitter row over comments he made on social media.
The Turkish side confirmed the news on Wednesday after the striker had written on his Instagram account he was not being given respect for his achievements due to him being black.
Cameroon star Eto’o joined Antalyaspor last year but his spell has turned sour in recent times following speculation he was leaving to join arch-rivals Besiktas.
Things have got worse for the former Barcelona, Inter Milan, Everton and Chelsea veteran since the season began.
His side have only collected one point from their opening four league matches.

He followed that up with another message insisting his comments were not directed at club chairman Ali Safak Ozturk.
The comments, however, have not gone down well and a statement on the Antalyaspor website said that a meeting of its board had decided to leave Eto'o out of the first-team squad picture until further notice.
