Reports on Monday morning suggested Barca would try and bring back Bellerin for £30million - and now Jordi Mastre's gushing comments about him have all but confirmed their plans.

Mastre told : “We’ve already seen him as a Cule! He’s a great player, there’s no doubt about that.

“Wenger convinced him to move [in 2011] and promised him something which we couldn’t.

But fans will be worried as the situation is very similar to when Cesc Fabregas moved back to his homeland in 2011.

And Mastre revealed he has no problem with bringing back former players once they have developed at another club.

Mastre added: “In many cases it’s good that they leave to develop as players and then return [with that experience].

“Look at the cases of Cesc [Fabregas], [Gerard] Pique, [Jordi] Alba and Denis Suarez… I hope the same thing will happen with [Sergi] Samper, too.

“It’s positive that [these players] get minutes at other clubs. It is dynamic which has always provided good results for players that carry the Barca DNA in their blood.”

Arsenal rate Bellerin at £40m and are trying to secure a two-year contract extension to ward off other clubs.
