Maguire was under intense pressure after being jeered by England fans against Ivory Coast at Wembley.

But he put in a fairly composed performance against old side Leicester as United picked up a point in their top four chase.

And Maguire ended his day on a classy note by cheering up a young fan in the crowd.

As the defender made his way to the tunnel, he made a beeline towards the Stretford End crowd while simultaneously removing his shirt.

Video footage then shows Maguire throwing his jersey into the crowd, with the camera panning around to reveal a young boy in his father’s arms clinching it with joy.

The little lad beamed with happiness as his dad thanked Maguire, who calmly waltzed towards United’s dressing room.

And it will surely be one memory the pint-sized Red Devil will remember for the rest of his life.

Speaking before the game, Ralf Rangnick insisted he was confident Maguire would receive a rapturous welcome from United fans.

And the ace was indeed given huge cheers throughout the game.

Rangnick said: “Harry has been a very valuable player for the team and the club as captain.

“I didn’t understand what happened at Wembley, it won’t happen in our stadium with the Red Army.

“He’s been playing well for United and England in the last couple of years.
