Premier League title odds: Manchester United FIFTH favourites to finish top after slumping to 3-1 defeat at Watford

reckon Manchester United are in danger of missing out on Champions League football for the second season in a row.

And that is because their third straight defeat has left the Red Devils  of the Premier League pile.

Jose Mourinho is bossing in the Europa League for the first time in 13 years after former gaffer Louis van Gaal could only lead them to a fifth-place finish last time around.

United started their European campaign with a 1-0 defeat at Feyenoord on Thursday, before slumping to today's 3-1 loss at Watford.

After starting the last eight days by getting turned over 2-1 to rivals and title favourites Manchester City, it has left the Portuguese's bright start to life at Old Trafford in tatters.

And he tore into his flops again after going down at Vicarage Road by slamming his players for individual mistakes - as well as match officials for not awarding a free-kick in the build-up to Etienne Capoue's opener.

Mour fumed: “I think there is no debate and no controversy (over the offside) - an obvious situation like it was last week against Man City but I cannot control it or be critical of it.

“I wasn’t really happy in the first half. For about 25 or 30 minutes we didn’t play well and that’s something that we can control and improve.

“But the referee and linesman mistake is not under my control. I can do nothing to improve it.

“The only thing we can control is out individual mistakes and our collective mistakes in.

“Their second goal for example is an individual mistake because we have to press the wing-backs outside the box and not let them take advantage of being one against one in the box.

“And another individual mistake because we know their midfield players arrive in the box.

“Again, the referee and luck I cannot improve. She will arrive when it’s the right moment."
