Nemanja Vidic reveals that David Moyes made him watch videos of Phil Jagielka during their time at Manchester United
DAVID MOYES tried to make Nemanja Vidic a better defender by making him watch videos of Phil Jagielka.
The doomed former Manchester United boss lasted just nine months at Old Trafford after succeeding Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013.
And the Serbian hardman has revealed the former Toffees boss attempted to give him advice on his defending by showing him clips of the Everton centre-back in action.
Moyes inherited a side fresh on confidence, title-winners with a defensive pairing in Vidic and Rio Ferdinand that was one of the finest in the clubs history.
During a Q&A for , the Serb was asked by a fan: 'How did you feel when David Moyes made you and Rio Ferdinand watch videos of Phil Jagielka defending? Was it as big a deal to the pair of you as has since been made out?'.
Pausing and somewhat avoiding answering the question directly, Vidic replied: "Players don’t always like what managers say to them. That’s normal – it even happened with Fergie.
"The sad thing for me wasn’t any specific incident; it was that with David as manager and me as captain, we didn’t do well.
“As a team, we wanted to prove people wrong after Fergie went. We hoped to be better. We were not.
"We all lost and must share the responsibility and guilt, David as manager and me as captain.”
