Mark Hughes claims he will not change his touchline antics after Stoke boss’ misconduct charge
Potters chief says there needs to be more 'clarity' in FA rules after misconduct charge
MARK HUGHES says he will not let an FA misconduct rap change his touchline behaviour.
The Stoke City boss was fined for refusing to leave the technical area after being sent off for protesting two decisions by ref Anthony Taylor against Spurs last Saturday.
Sparky said: “I only get animated when I see things I don’t like.
“If people thought I was overboard then fine, but not too many will say I was ranting and raving from the first minute to the 35th when I was dismissed.
“I was quite calm as the first-half performance was quite good. The interpretation seemed a bit heavy-handed.

“It’s a difficult job refereeing but get the key decisions right and nobody will complain. At the moment, they’re not quite doing that.”
Stoke officials noted that Jose Mourinho left his technical area several times during last weekend’s Manchester derby but escaped with a warning.
Hughes said: “It’s confusing at the moment, there’s a new directive that you can’t be too emotional or waving your arms about — that’s coming from the Premier League.
“Then TV companies are marketing games on the back of managers being emotional and they see that as positive.
“But the FA and the Premier League feel that’s a negative and reflects badly around the world.

“I was out of the technical area and by the letter of the law I should have been sent off.
“But it was my first offence after 35 minutes — a quiet word in the ear might have sufficed.
“I was sent off for leaving the technical area and I understand the improper conduct charge is because I didn’t leave immediately.
“But it was difficult because I didn’t know where to go and was hanging around for clarity.
“I was asking the fourth official Jon Moss who, my understanding is, should know that information.”
