Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale absent Real Madrid training with the Welshman definitely out of Espanyol clash in La Liga
CRISTIANO RONALDO and Gareth Bale were both missing from Real Madrid training.
Welshman Bale picked up a hip injury sustained during the midweek Champions League win over Sporting Lisbon.
Bale was taken off during the game and will miss Real’s trip to Barcelona to face Espanyol.
But Ronaldo looks set to be fit for selection on Sunday as he only missed out to do recovery work on his knee.
Real do not want to put Ronaldo through too much work as he continues to rehabilitate form his previous injury.
The three-time Ballon d’Or winner has played twice in a week since coming back from missing the start of the season.
Ronaldo was floored by Dimitri Payet early on in the Euro 2016 final where Portugal beat France 1-0 in extra-time.
It is unclear when Bale will be back but boss Zinedine Zidane is likely to turn to James Rodriguez or Lucas Vazquez to take his place.
Real are currently top of La Liga and are looking to set an incredible new club record of a 16th consecutive domestic victory.
Fabio Coentrao has returned to action and will provide Zidane with new options at the back after recovering from a thigh injury.
