MAUR WORRIES

Zinedine Zidane set to replace Mauricio Pochettino at PSG in summer ‘and raid Real Madrid for stars including Benzema’

ZINEDINE ZIDANE will manage PSG next season and wants to take a couple of Real Madrid stars with him, according to reports.

Mauricio Pochettino’s position is under threat after the Parisian’s second half capitulation in their Champions League Round of 16 tie against Zidane’s ex-club.

Pochettino admitted he is going through a ‘sad situation’ at PSG after Lionel Messi and Neymar were by their own supporters whilst beating Bordeaux 3-0.

And reports that Zidane is lined up to be the next manager at Le Parc des Princes.

Not only that, but he’s said to be taking a couple of big hitters – Karim Benzema and Casemiro – with him from his old days in Madrid.

The Spanish outlet claims that Benzema is ‘longing’ for Paris.

And they claim 49-year-old manager has been ‘asking’ about the striker on behalf of PSG already.

The pair have a very good relationship from their days together for the Spanish giants, when Zidane led the side to multiple LaLiga and Champions League title wins.

Although, club president Florentino Perez is ‘very reluctant’ to get rid of the French hot shot.

At 34 years, he is a key player for Madrid, as seen by his second half hat-trick last week to knock PSG out of Europe’s most elite competition.

But El Nacional say that a Benzema move may become more likely if they are able to land Erling Haaland in the summer.

Midfielder Casemiro is the other familiar face that legend Zidane would want to accompany him to Paris.

And Perez would not be opposed to selling the Brazilian if a ‘good offer arrives’.

At the age of 30, with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos in the middle with him, it appears that Madrid will want fresh faces at the Bernabeu soon.

Supposedly, Madrid will agree to a transfer of around £35million.

Meanwhile, Pochettino’s possible exit from PSG is good news for Manchester United as they have been long-term admirers.

The Argentine boss is said to be one of the favourites to replace interim boss Ralf Rangnick at Old Trafford next season.
