Former Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham star Emmanuel Adebayor in talks to join Lyon on free transfer
Veteran striker was released from his Crystal Palace contract at the end of last season and French giants have made move
LYON are reportedly back in for free agent Emmanuel Adebayor after initial talks broke down earlier in the week.
The former Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham striker saw his Crystal Palace contract expire last summer after just one goal in nine appearances.
And despite being linked with a move to Championship outfit Fulham, Adebayor – who also enjoyed a short loan spell at Real Madrid – failed to find a new side before transfer deadline day.
There was also interest from Turkish club Caykur Rizespor, but French newspaper claims Lyon are in the driving seat for his signature.
Previous talks between the two parties ground to a halt on Wednesday for unknown reasons.

But it appears Lyon have had a change of heart, and negotiations are said to be going well.
In fact, the Ligue 1 giants are confident of having a deal wrapped up on Friday, allowing Adebayor to be registered in time for the trip to Marseille on Sunday evening.
But should the 32-year-old secure a move to Lyon, he is likely to be restricted to a sub’s role due to the presence of deadly hitman Alexandre Lacazette.
