Chelsea to lose over £600k per GAME in lost ticket sales with club facing financial crisis after Abramovich sanctioned

CHELSEA are set to lose out on an estimated £600,000 per GAME in lost ticket sales for the rest of this season.

The Blues were rocked on Thursday morning by the news that owner Roman Abramovich's assets have been frozen by the UK government, amid ties with Vladimir Putin.

Chelsea have been granted a special license by the government to keep playing, but their expected sale is now on hold.

The West Londoners cannot sell any tickets or merchandise in a huge financial blow.

The club's 28,000 season ticket holders WILL still be able to attend home games - having already purchased their seats.

But the remaining 12,834 tickets at Stamford Bridge will be unsold.

According to a study by , Chelsea stand to lose out on approximately £603,198 in unsold tickets per home game.

The Blues' next two home games are already sold out.

But should the issue not be resolved for the remainder of the season, the Blues will miss out on around £1.8m from their final three home matches.

Chelsea have also seen their £120million shirt sponsorship deal with mobile network Three suspended.

A Three statement read: "In light of the Government's recently-announced sanctions, we have requested Chelsea Football Club temporarily suspend our sponsorship of the club including the removal our brand from the and around the stadium until further notice.

"We recognise that this decision will impact the many fans who follow their team passionately.

"However, we feel that given the circumstance, and the Government sanction that is in place, it is the right thing to do.

"As a mobile network, the best way we can support the people of Ukraine is to ensure refugees arriving in the UK from the conflict and customers currently in Ukraine can stay connected to the people who matter to them.

"Therefore, we are offering connectivity packages to all Ukrainians arriving in the UK, and those in the Ukraine."

Abramovich - who has been deemed to have been a Kremlin crony of Putin's - has been banned from selling the club and from injecting more money into the SW6 outfit.

But the Government will consider an application for a licence to sell the club - although Abramovich won't pocket a penny for it.

American billionaire Todd Boehly is eager to snap up the club and is waiting to hear back on an offer he and Swiss business partner Hansjorg Wyss have made.

The Blues - who will be docked nine points if they go into administration - have been BANNED from buying or selling players and tying their out-of-contract stars to new deals.
