NEYMAR has revealed that he turned down a move to Paris Saint-Germain because he loves Barcelona and Lionel Messi too much.

The Brazilian superstar, 24, rejected the approach from the French champions - which would've seen him earn £650,000-a-week - to remain at the Nou Camp.

And the Olympics gold medallist has revealed that he never wanted to leave Barca - because he loves the city and the club.

He said: "Yes, we had many conversations with many people.

"It was not just one club. But hey, I chose to stay at the club because I feel at home and I am very happy here, with my colleagues and with my life here."

There was speculation that Manchester United had also made an offer for the Brazilian - who has a release clause of £160million in his contract.

But Neymar wasn't interested in discussing personal terms, even after PSG offered him his own JET.

The Barca forward continued: "I do no imagine leaving, I feel at home and I am very happy. I hope to help the team more and more."

This summer Brazil took Olympic gold in Rio with Neymar striking the decisive penalty and he revealed he is still delighted by the triumph.

He said: "It was with great pride that I could participate in Brazil's history. We've long thought of that gold medal, and after much work and difficulties we succeeded. I'm very grateful to have been involved.

"We've had difficult years but we always have good quality players. We are looking for our best game. Brazil will always have quality players, if well trained we can do well."

Neymar has formed a deadly trio with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez - and was particularly complimentary of the little Argentinian.

He continued: "If the Golden Ball was always the best player, Messi would take it every year.

"It 's very easy to play with him and we understand each other very well in the field.

"It's about companionship, we talked a lot and he knows very well when I can leave it or give it to Luis Suarez. We are always talking and helping each other."
