Ilkay Gundogan makes Manchester City debut against Borussia Monchengladbach – even though he was named on the bench by Pep Guardiola last night
ILKAY GUNDOGAN starts for Manchester City tonight, despite being named on the bench last night before the match was postponed.
Torrential downpours in Lancashire led to the clash at the Etihad being postponed 24 hours.
And with Pep Guardiola able to shuffle his pack this evening, he has decided to give the £21million man his bow.
The 25-year-old has been fighting back from injury for the past few months following a dislocated knee.
Germany international Gundogan was named on the bench last night but 24 hours later, Guardiola has put him alongside Fernandinho in the deep midfield position as they go for a 4-2-3-1 formation.
