Tottenham defender Kyle Walker attempts to sing famous Champions League anthem, with Twitter reacting in brutal manner

Full-back puts in high-pitched rendition of the famous tune for Spurs' official social media page, with users left cringing

THE Champions League is back with Arsenal snatching a 1-1 draw against Paris Saint-Germain in France on Tuesday.

Wednesday sees three Premier League sides take to the field, with Manchester City's rearranged match with Borussia Monchengladbach set to hit our screens as well as - for the first time ever - reigning champions Leicester.

Then of course, there's Tottenham back in the European big-time...

And with the excitement building ahead of the return of Champions League action to Spurs, their official Twitter account had a novel way of getting fans in the mood.

With not having the rights to play the famous anthem ahead of the clash with Monaco at Wembley, Tottenham's tweeters asked Kyle Walker - who recently put pen to paper on a new five-year deal to stay at White Hart Lane - to SING the tune himself.

But users on Twitter, mostly Tottenham fans themselves, were quick to react with anguish, demanding the post be removed, mainly due to its high-pitched and somewhat out of tune rendition.

Here are some of the best responses from the Twittersphere...
