Vlahovic, 22, had scored just once in his first four appearances for the Italian giants.

But he repaid Max Allegri's faith tonight with a stunning finish just half a minute into the European tie.

With punters still taking to their seats at El Madrigal in Spain, Juventus played a long ball straight towards Villarreal's penalty area.

Despite being closed down by two defenders, Vlahovic used his giant size to win the ball and control it.

He then swept his right foot across his body to kick the ball in at the far post.

And Vlahovic's fine finish sparked wild celebrations amongst his Juventus teammates and travelling supporters.

He is now the third player to net within the first minute of his Champions League debut after Andreas Moller (38 seconds) and Ishak Befodil (43 seconds).

However, Villarreal did not roll over in the tense European clash.

It's all to play for in the second leg after Dani Parejo bagged a second-half equaliser for the hosts.

But it was Vlahovic's record-breaking strike which made the biggest impact tonight.

The Serb, who has seven goals in 14 caps, is widely regarded as one of Europe's top emerging players.

Vlahovic made a name for himself last season with 21 Serie A goals for Fiorentina.

And he upped his game this term, scoring 20 goals in all competitions before sealing a £66m switch to Turin.

Vlahovic is also hitting headlines for another reason in Italy.

That's because he's dating Carolina Stramare, dubbed the 'Italian Megan Fox'.

The winner of Miss Italy 2019 has more than 300,000 Instagram followers.

And her relationship with Vlahovic was revealed by Italian media at the weekend.
