KEVIN DE BRUYNE has hailed Pep Guardiola's influence on Manchester City after their derby day victory.
The Belgian international stared for City as he scored the opener in their 2-1 defeat of Manchester United at Old Trafford.
That made it four wins out of four for Guardiola's team and De Bruyne, 25, revealed it is the former Barcelona boss who has given the City players a boost this season.
De Bruyne said: "I think the way we try to play now is very enjoyable, especially for the attacking players, because we try to play nice football, the way we want to play.
"I think maybe for some guys it's a new beginning. We have got to go a little bit away from the physical game in the Premier League, because we are not as strong as other teams.
"We know that, so we try to dominate them with the way we want to play."
City now turn their attentions to the Champions League where they take on German side Borussia Monchengladbach.
And four days after they are back in Premier League duties against Bournemouth - and De Bruyne has urged his team-mates to keep up their momentum.
De Bruyne added: "Football isn't easy.
"Obviously everybody has his own style and you need to adapt to it, but I think everyone is working really hard - even the guys coming in, they do it perfectly.
"At the moment it is very positive, so we just have to try to keep it in this flow."
