Neymar announces he is set to launch his music career after it was revealed Barcelona superstar has been taking piano lessons

Brazilian forward announced that he will release a single called 'Neymusico' on his Facebook page

NEYMAR won gold this summer at the Olympics - and now he's after a gold record in the world of music.

The Brazilian superstar, 24, announced that he will release his first single 'Neymusico' later this week on his Facebook page - to a stunned reaction from fans.

Just hours after the embarrassing home defeat to minnows Aleves, the Barca striker took to social media to alert his 25 million followers about his new career path.

A well known music fan, Neymar was seen battling it off with teammate Dani Alves over who could croon best whilst playing the piano on a viral video.

He was snapped this summer hanging out with Justin Beiber in LA - whilst his Brazilian team-mates were humiliated in the Copa America.

His Twitter reveal reads: "This Wednesday I begin my music career and I’m going to release my first song on Facebook. We will have ‘Neymusico’. Share it."

And with his new found instrumental skills, fans are eager to see if the track will be a hit or, if the history of footballers releasing songs is anything to go by, a monumental flop.

There was, let's say, a mixed reaction on Twitter to the news.
