MANCHESTER UNITED have been dealt a blow as Leonardo Bonucci looks set to sign a new contract with Juventus.
According to the , Jose Mourinho wanted Bonucci, 29, to strengthen their defence.
But the chances of the Italian international signing were slimmed when Paul Pogba made his record £89million move to Old Trafford.
Bonucci was on United's radar after being one of the standout defenders during Euro 2016.
And the centre back was also key in Juve's four successive Serie A titles.
United have had some bad luck with luring defenders to the Theatre of Dreams after Jose Fonte turned down a move.
