SunSport can reveal the pair decided to end their bitter eight-year feud with a handshake at a Premier League meeting — stunning rival bosses.

A Premier League source said: “Everybody was expecting fireworks but instead they shook hands and agreed to put the past behind them.

“I doubt they’ll ever be best friends but they were on good terms. They even cracked a smile and a joke.”

The pair — once close friends at Barcelona under Bobby Robson — fell out after Guardiola became Nou Camp boss in 2008, a job Mourinho craved.

Animosity intensified when Mourinho’s Inter beat Barca in the 2010 Champions League semis. And the feud continued when Mourinho coached Real Madrid for three years.
