Neymar was ‘offered £650,000-a-week to join Paris Saint-Germain’ this summer and was ‘close to Manchester United’ move
Brazilian star was subject to a huge offer from the French champions but 'wanted to stay at Barcelona' according to agent
BRAZILIAN superstar Neymar was offered £650,000 to move to Paris Saint-Germain this summer, according to his agent.
The Barcelona forward, 24, eventually opted to stay at the Nou Camp after lengthy speculation and signed a new bumper five-year contract in the post-season.
But - as revealed by SunSport earlier this summer - Jose Mourinho's Manchester United were allegedly 'close' to a move for the prolific striker.
Agent Wagner Ribeiro, who also has close link's the Brazilian's family, revealed that there was interest from PSG who were prepared to smash the world record and pay £160m for Neymar's services.
"With employer contributions on top, that salary would have cost more than €60m a year. It's obscene.
"Neymar used us to strengthen his hand with Barcelona."
Mourinho moved for Zlatan Ibrahimovic after failing to land Neymar, a far cheaper option up front, whilst utilising the clubs immense spending power with the signing of Paul Pogba from Juventus.
