Aubameyang could be left out of Barcelona’s Europa League squad as club cannot register all four January transfers
PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG could be left out of Barcelona's Europa League squad due to Uefa rules.
New Barca recruit Aubameyang, 32, will be keen to win the competition after losing the 2019 final to Chelsea with Arsenal.
But he might not even be handed the opportunity to play, as Barcelona find themselves in a pickle due to Uefa rules.
As reported by , competition guidelines dictate that clubs are only permitted to register three new January signings for the knockout rounds.
Barcelona have recruited four players this winter, meaning that one will have to be left out.
This means that Xavi will have to choose between Aubameyang, Dani Alves, Ferran Torres and Adama Traore.
Whoever is left out will not be allowed to play any part in the remainder of this season's Europa League campaign.
Barca have until 11pm tomorrow to make their decision and submit their squad list.

But his deal to leave Arsenal on a free transfer to join Barca has been agreed,.
Xavi's side find themselves the Europa League after coming third behind Bayern Munich and Benfica in their Champions League group.
They will have to navigate a tricky looking play-off against Napoli in order to reach the last 16.
Should Alves be selected, the Brazilian could win his 24th trophy with Barcelona - although he has never lifted the Europa League with them.
He has won the Uefa Cup, however, triumphing twice with Sevilla in 2006 and 2007.
