LIVERPOOL have seen their £8million transfer for Fulham wonderkid Fabio Carvalho COLLAPSE.
A five-year deal had been in place for the talented winger, 19, after lengthy deadline day talks.
But Carvalho will stay at Fulham for the rest of the season after Liverpool failed to get the necessary paperwork signed by Monday's 11pm deadline.
Liverpool thought they had sealed a deal after a breakthrough in talks during a two-hour meeting.
SunSport revealed at the weekend that Fulham rebuffed an initial approach from Jurgen Klopp's side.
And they were willing to keep Carvalho until the summer, despite his contract expiring.
However, a middle ground was sought on Monday evening which was set to see Fulham receive £8m for Carvalho.
And they were also going to keep the ace on loan for their Championship title push.

But Carvalho's future is now in limbo, having already snubbed numerous Fulham contract offers.
And Liverpool will now face compensation by tribunal should they look to sign him as a free agent this summer.
Carvalho has come through the ranks in West London and has been in scintillating form this season under Marco Silva.
The Lisbon-born England youth star has netted eight goals this season, including four in the club's last three games.
They have helped the Cottagers soar to the top of the Championship, with Marco Silva's men looking strong contenders for an immediate return to the Premier League.
