Nicklas Bendtner completes free transfer to Nottingham Forest and could play Arsenal in the EFL Cup in two weeks

Former Arsenal frontman makes return to English football and joins Championship club on two-year deal

NICKLAS BENDTNER has completed his move to Championship side Nottingham Forest.

The former Arsenal frontman, 28, returns to English football after a two-year stint in the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg.

Forest chairman Fawaz Al-Hasawi confirmed the arrival of the Dane on a two-year deal on his Twitter profile.

The club were in need of firepower going forward after selling teenage sensation Oliver Burke to RB Leipzig for £15m.

Bendtner could even be set to face his former employers Arsenal in the EFL Cup in two weeks time.

He made 171 appearance for the Gunners over nine years and netted 47 times, without ever really establishing himself in the first team.
