Barcelona swoop to sign superstar Lionel Messi’s three-year-old son Thiago for their academy
Catalan giants are hoping that Thiago will be blessed with the same talents as his old man
IF one Messi wasn’t enough, then Barcelona have just signed themselves another.
The Spanish giants have signed Thiago Messi, the son of Argentine superstar Lionel.
At age of just three, Barcelona are obviously hoping that Thiago has been blessed with the same unique talents as his father who has gone on to win five Ballon d’Or’s.
According to , Barcelona have their own special academy for kids between the ages three and five which Thiago will join.
Bizarrely, the signing comes just one day after Lionel said his son isn’t really interested in football.
As expected, Messi senior has started the season in spectacular form with two goals from his opening two La Liga matches.
But the Catalan side have been rocked with the news that Messi could be facing a spell on the sidelines after tearing a muscle in his left hamstring.
The 29-year-old underwent scans following Argentina’s victory over Uruguay before Barcelona admitted he is struggling with injury.
