Gabriel Jesus ignoring Manchester City transfer and staying focused after bagging brilliant brace in Brazil bow

Young forward led his country to Olympic glory and has already got his senior career off to a flyer ahead of Etihad move

GABRIEL JESUS insists he’s not thinking about Manchester City after bagging a brace on his Brazil debut.

The 19-year-old will link up with Pep Guardiola in a £27million deal at the start of 2017, having opted to stay with current club Palmeiras until the end of the Brazilian season.

Jesus has already been labelled ‘the new Neymar’ by sections of the press in his homeland, and got his international career off to a flyer with two goals against Ecuador last week.

Guardiola has already revealed he expects the youngster to become a scoring sensation at the Etihad, but Jesus is staying focused on the present ahead of his January switch.

He said: “I’m focused on my objectives. I like to see the plays, successes and errors in order for me to correct them.

“I am with the national team and I am focused here. I do not even want to have contact in relation to Manchester.
