Liverpool transfer news: AC Milan rejected Reds offer for Italy full-back Mattia De Sciglio
LIVERPOOL had an offer for Mattia De Sciglio rejected by AC Milan, according to reports in Italy.
Jurgen Klopp was linked with full-backs all summer but failed to sign anyone.
The German boss was believed to want competition for Alberto Moreno, who has struggled defensively since moving to Anfield from Sevilla.
report that Liverpool made a bid for 23-year-old De Sciglio but had their offer rejected.
The Reds also saw moves for Ben Chilwell of Leicester and Lucas Digne - who eventually moved to Barcelona - fall through.
De Sciglio, who was part of Italy's Euro 2016 squad, was also being chased by Juventus and Napoli but Milan were determined to hang onto the defender.

The failure to bring in a left-back means centre-midfielder James Milner will continue to challenge Moreno for the position.
The Spaniard was dropped after his poor performance against Arsenal with the former England man filling in since.
Milner's agent Matthew Buck said the 30-year-old is happy to play the role.
Buck said: "He has huge respect for Jurgen.
"He’s 30 but always learning and embracing things.
"Left-back is a difficult one for him as he’s naturally right footed.
"I wouldn’t say he finds it easy but as people know from his personality and temperament he will always put the team first.
"James wants to contribute to the team and will sacrifice himself in order to give the team the best opportunity to win."
