MANCHESTER UNITED and Chelsea summer target Blaise Matuidi admits he wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain during the transfer window.
The France international was heavily linked with a Premier League switch following the arrival of Unai Emery from Sevilla.
The new boss quickly moved to snap up Polish ace Grzegorz Krychowiak, putting Matuidi’s first-team place in doubt.
Juventus also made a late move to sign the 29-year-old after eventually selling Paul Pogba to the Red Devils.
But PSG chiefs decided to keep Matuidi at the Parc des Princes for the upcoming season, and the midfielder admits he had no choice but to accept the decision as the French champions look to retain their title once again.
He said: “There was a concrete request. I wanted to complete a transfer.
