Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has been allowed an international return with France when legal proceedings have finished

The French striker was suspended indefinitely by the FFF in December 2015 for an alleged blackmail

KARIM BENZEMA will be allowed to resume his international career with France when legal proceedings have finished.

The president of the French Football Federation (FFF), Noel Graet, has claimed the door will be open for Benzema, once the legal proceedings against him for an alleged blackmail have terminated.

Le Graet told L'Equipe: "I am against lifetime punishments. Benzema needs to go through the courts, we won't take a risk, whatever it might be."

"He already missed the Euros, that's something.

"The problem hasn't been raised for the moment, but he's available for selection. The day when justice will be done, only then will Didier decide whether to integrate him or not."
