ARSENAL have received a boost in their pursuit of PSG midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum after it was revealed he supported them as a boy.
The former Liverpool midfielder, 31, has been linked with a move away from the Ligue 1 leaders this month after struggling to hit the ground running in France.
And journalist Kaveh Solhekol has now confirmed the Dutchman could be more open to a move to the Emirates because of his love for them as a child.
Speaking on , he said: "I've been told Arsenal are one of his favourite clubs.
"Somebody quite close to me said that when he was growing up that he was an Arsenal supporter.
"So I think that he would be more than happy to play for Arsenal one day.
"I'm not going to say it's going to happen this month. I'm not going to say it's going to happen in the summer.
"But they are definitely, I've been told, a club that are close to his heart."

Wijnaldum has been reduced to a role off the bench for much of the campaign so far.
However, he has recently begun to secure a place in the starting line-up for Mauricio Pochettino's side - beginning each of their last three league matches.
He has managed just three goals and one assists in 24 games since leaving Liverpool at the end of last season.
But Solhekol insists if he now continues to get more game time under Pochettino then he expects to stay at the club.
"The issue as far as the player is concerned is he just wants to player," he added. "If he's playing regularly at PSG then he's happy at PSG.
"Significantly, he's started their past three league games. So if that continues, I think it's more and more likely that he will stay at PSG."
The midfielder spent six seasons in England - one with Newcastle and five with Liverpool.
He scored 11 goals in 40 games for Newcastle before moving to Anfield in 2016.
And Wijnaldum went on to play 237 times for the Reds, netting 22 times for Jurgen Klopp's men.
During his time with Liverpool, he won both the Champions League and Premier League.
