It was only in February that Kane signed a five-and-a-half year contract with Spurs, but boss Mauricio Pochettino will now make him the highest-paid player at the club.

His current £50,000 a week basic wage is set to be doubled as Tottenham look to reward the striker for his performances.

Kane, who won the Premier League’s golden boot last season, will see his wage rocket to around £120,000 per week, in addition to goal and performance bonuses plus image rights.

That would mean he would pocket around £7.5m a year and £35m in total from the deal.

Academy graduate Kane has burst onto the scene over the last two seasons and is now one of the most feared striker’s in the Premier League.

He will lead England’s attack this afternoon as Sam Allardyce opted for the 23-year-old upfront in his first game in charge of the Three Lions away to Slovakia.
