Man City set to offer record scorer Sergio Aguero role after being forced to retire early because of heart condition
MANCHESTER CITY are ready to offer their record goalscorer Sergio Aguero an ambassadorial role with the club.
The Argentine forward was forced to hang up his boots last month at the age of just 33 due to a previously undetected heart condition.
Aguero — who joined Barcelona only last summer — has yet to reveal what he plans to do next as the medical problem only came to light at the end of October.
But City are keen to get their legendary former star back on the payroll and are exploring ways to make it happen.
The Premier League champions currently have 1968 title winner Mike Summerbee as a club ambassador.
Several other former stars such as Joleon Lescott, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Micah Richards also have some duties with them.
And where Aguero, who is currently on holiday in Uruguay, would fit in has yet to be established.
City announced in the spring that they will build a statue for their former striker, who scored 260 goals and won five Prem title medals in ten glittering years at the Etihad.

That looks likely to be unveiled in the summer and stand alongside the tributes to his former team-mates Vincent Kompany and David Silva.
Aguero is currently on holiday in his native South America.
He flew back to Argentina soon after announcing his agonising decision to retire in Barcelona on December 16.
