Luke Shaw tipped to make Manchester United’s clash with City on Saturday after injury forces him out of England squad to face Slovakia
New Three Lions boss Sam Allardyce says £30m left-back's latest set-back is just a 'slight problem'
LUKE SHAW is hopeful of making the Manchester derby after being sent home from England duty.
The Manchester United left-back returned as a precaution after feeling an ache in the leg he broke last season.
But Three Lions boss Sam Allardyce is confident the knock will not stop him playing against City at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Allardyce said: “It’s a slight problem with his leg.
“I don’t think it will keep him out too long. A little ache, muscular. He felt uncomfortable. With what he’s been through, we didn’t want to take a chance.
“It’s the calf where the break was. I think he’s done exceptionally well given the games he’s played — but he didn’t feel comfortable so the wise thing to do was send him back.”
