Luke Shaw is the only player to sit out as England train for the last time before Slovakia clash
Sam Allardyce puts men through their paces at St. George's Park before boarding plane for first World Cup 2018 qualifier
ENGLAND’s players had a look of determination about them on Saturday in their final training session ahead of Sam Allardyce’s first match in charge.
The Three Lions were put through their paces by Big Sam and his coaching staff at St. George’s Park this morning before departing to Slovakia later today for their opening World Cup 2018 qualifier.
All but one member of Allardyce’s 23-man squad were involved, the only absentee being Luke Shaw.
The Manchester United left-back only returned this summer after almost a year out with a broken leg.
And the FA explained his absence by stating on their website that their medical team were looking “to manage the workload of a player who missed the majority of last season”.
Allardyce will lead his side into match action for the first time tomorrow after replacing Roy Hodgson following the dismal Euro 2016 exit to Iceland.
He seems to be in confident spirits as he revealed his starting line-up on Friday evening.
There was one surprise name among the Three Lions players out on the pitch this morning as they were joined by Arsenal youngster Tafari Moore.
The England Under-20s full-back was asked to supplement Shaw’s absence after Allardyce had watched him in action on Thursday as the Young Lions drew 1-1 with Brazil.
Allardyce and his squad will arrive in Trnava on Saturday evening, heading to the City Arena before the boss and his captain Wayne Rooney attend the pre-match press conference.
