The Canaries will be rooted to the bottom of the table on Christmas Day with just ten points, with the Magpies only ahead of them on goal difference.

However, Newcastle are expected to splash the cash in January to bolster Eddie Howe’s newly-inherited squad once the transfer window opens.

But despite that, Keane still expects them to go down.

When asked for his relegation picks by Micah Richards during their latest episode, the Irishman said: “I’ll tell you, I’m going to go Norwich, and I’m going to say Newcastle.”

Keane then brought three other sides into the mix as he predicted the trio would be battling to avoid the final spot.

Discussing Southampton, he said: “They are a moody team, they can win two or three at home then lose six or seven.

“I’m going to say It’s between Southampton and Watford.

“But even Burnley. Burnley’s points total… But you know, Burnley could be one of them teams where because they have got out of it before, you automatically think ‘oh they will get out it’ and they don’t."

The Clarets currently occupy the third relegation spot going into Christmas.

Sean Dyche’s side are two points behind Watford in 17th-place.
