New Bournemouth star Jack Wilshere puts Arsenal behind him as midfielder works up a sweat in training session under Eddie Howe
Exiled Gunner joined Cherries in shock loan move on transfer deadline day and has cut off Emirates links on social media
THERE were plenty of shocks on transfer deadline day.
But Jack Wilshere’s surprise loan move from Arsenal to Bournemouth arguably tops the lot.
The England international was sent packing from the Emirates after failing to convince Arsene Wenger of his credentials for the upcoming Premier League season.
Interest was high, with Wilshere – who has removed all Arsenal links –receiving offers from Roma, AC Milan and Crystal Palace.
But close pal Benik Afobe convinced the midfielder to join him at the Cherries instead, and Wilshere has now been tipped to become a Bournemouth great – despite being trolled by Iceland.
Wenger will be looking for the 24-year-old to finally prove he has what it takes to cut it at the highest level, with Wilshere making just one league appearance last season as injuries took their toll.
And the former Bolton loanee has wasted no time settling down in his new surroundings, joining a number of his teammates on the pitch for an intense training session under the watchful gaze of Eddie Howe on Thursday morning.
Despite making the cut for England’s ill-fated Euro 2016 campaign, Wilshere has been left out of Sam Allardyce’s first-ever Three Lions squad for the World Cup qualifier against Slovakia this weekend.
But the playmaker didn’t seem to be affected by the snub as he battled for the ball with the likes of Afobe and Lys Mousset.
