Arsenal transfer news: Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger blocks Yaya Sanogo loan move
ARSENE WENGER has blocked a move for Yaya Sanogo to join Leeds on loan.
Garry Monk was interested in the Arsenal forward, 23, joining his squad at Elland Road for the rest of the season.
But Wenger has told the Championship outfit he intends to keep the French striker at the Emirates Stadium.
He has added Lucas Perez to his attack and has Olivier Giroud returning to full fitness but still wants his options open when matches stack up.
What is a football medical and why do Premier League players sometimes fail them?
The Under-21 international has already had three spells out on loan since making his debut for the Gunners three years ago.
After helping Arsenal win the FA Cup in May 2014, Sanogo joined Crystal Palace for the remainder of the season the following January.
The next summer saw him join Dutch side Ajax for the first half of the campaign.
He then spent the second half of the season with Championship side Charlton, but despite his three goals in eight games, he was unable to help the Addicks beat the drop to League One.
