Sunderland transfer news: Black Cats smash club transfer record with £16miilion signing of Didier Ndong from French club Lorient
SUNDERLAND have signed Lorient's defender Didier Ndong for a club record transfer fee of £16million.
The Gabon international is already in Sunderland undergoing a medical and has agreed a five-year contract.
Ligue 1 club Lorient will get £16m (20M€) for NDong - a figure that includes add-ons.
Sunderland's previous record transfer of £13m happened when they secured Asamoah Gyan six years ago.
David Moyes is hungry for more arrivals on Deadline Day to avoid another sacking this season.
Norwich duo John Ruddy and Steven Naismith could be next through the door, with Yann M'Vila potentially returning to the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland are yet to win a Premier League game this season.
