RECAP
We'll find out the dates for all these ties shortly.
The first legs will be played over four nights in February, and the second legs over four nights in March.
BEST OF IT
Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City probably got the best case scenario there.
But what a tie that was saved until last. PSG vs Manchester United.
FULL CHAMPIONS LEAGUE DRAW
- Benfica vs Real Madrid
- Villarreal vs Man City
- Atletico vs Bayern Munich
- Salzburg vs Liverpool
- Inter Milan vs Ajax
- Sporting Lisbon vs Juventus
- Chelsea vs Lille
- PSG vs Man Utd
First leg - February 15/16/22/23
Second leg - March 8/9/15/16
PSG VS MAN UTD
Messi vs Ronaldo! It's happened!
What a tie.
CHELSEA VS LILLE
Good draw for Chelsea. And there's only 1 tie left. IT'S HAPPENED!
SPORTING LISBON VS JUVENTUS
2 ties to go...
INTER MILAN VS AJAX
SALZBURG VS LIVERPOOL
Jurgen Klopp will be smiling somewhere.
A very good draw for Liverpool.
ATLETICO MADRID VS BAYERN MUNICH
VILLARREAL VS MAN CITY
Pep's men will be happy with that!
A massive error there as Man Utd came out of the hat, but it's not possible as they met in the group stages.
Next up was Man City.
BENFICA VS REAL MADRID
HERE WE GO
The teams are in the pots... we're ready to roll.
ASSISTANT ANDREI
To help with the draw today is Arsenal cult hero Andrei Arshavin - as he's from Saint Petersburg, the host city of the final.
START ME UP
Host Pedro Pinto has just introduced Uefa deputy general secretary Giorgio Marchetti to conduct the draw.
The Champions League trophy is looking shiny and wonderful.
It's very nearly time.
NEARLY TIME
We're seconds away from the scheduled start time in Nyon.
Anyone else nervous? Mine just could be the caffeine, to be honest.
RONALDO VS MESSI?
Man Utd vs PSG is a possibility - I'm just throwing it out there.
Man City can't get the French side because they faced them in the group stage.
Liverpool could also end up facing Messi and Co. Mo Salah wouldn't mind that challenge, I reckon.
HOME COMFORTS
I should probably mention...
Unseeded teams will host the first leg in February.
Seeded teams will be at home for the second leg in March.
Man City, Man Utd and Liverpool will all be home for the second leg having won their groups.
Chelsea will be at home for the first leg.
COMING UP
About 20 minutes away from the draw proceedings commencing.
A reminder of the pots when the balls enter the hat:
Seeded: Ajax, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Liverpool, Lille, Man City, Man Utd, Real Madrid.
Unseeded: Atletico Madrid, Benfica, Chelsea, Inter Milan, PSG, Salzburg, Sporting Lisbon, Villarreal.
SPUR CRAZY
One thing we still don't know is what's going to happen with Spurs in the Europa Conference League.
Their game with Rennes last week was called off due to Covid and Group G is still up in the air.
All we know at this stage is that game will not be played but the result is to be determined.
We have no idea who the winners and runners-up from that group will be.
All will (hopefully, but probably not) become clear this afternoon.
ON THE HORIZON
The Champions League draw is the main event today, but there's also the Europa League and Europa Conference League draws coming up a bit later.
The Europa League featuring Barcelona - I still can't quite believe that sentence.
BLUES CRUISE
Chelsea recovered from an early defeat by Juventus in the group to go through rather easily in the end.
But Thomas Tuchel’s men were made to settle for second place despite thrashing the Italians 4-0 in the return.
Juve topped the group on 15 points, two ahead of Chelsea.
Zenit and Malmo were well off the pace
UNITED FRONT
It looked a bit dicey at times, but Manchester Utd came through Group F as winners thanks to their fair share of late goals.
United finished top on 11 points from Villarreal on 10 with Atalanta made to settle for third and Young Boys bottom.
How crucial were those late goals against Atalanta and Villarreal?
RAMPANT REDS
Liverpool usually make tough work of the group stage but they had no problems this year.
Jurgen Klopp’s men won all six games against Atletico Madrid, Porto and Milan in what looked to be the group of death on paper.
Atletico edged through in second on the final matchday with Porto third and Milan bottom.
Liverpool became the first ever English side to win all of their group stage matches.
The Merseysiders also won six consecutive matches in Europe for the first time ever
GROUP A RECAP
Manchester City finished top of their group with Paris Saint-Germain going through in second place.
Pep Guardiola’s men won four of their six games to finish one point ahead of the French giants in a tough group.
RB Leipzig were sent to the Europa League after finishing third and Brugge were last
ROAD TO THE FINAL
The final this season takes place at the Gazprom Arena in St Petersburg, Russia on 28th May.
Quarter-finals are set for April 5/6 and 12/13 before the semis on April 26/27 and May 3/4
