Van de Beek set to be stuck at Man Utd after Everton ‘end pursuit of £35m flop following Marcel Brands’ exit’
DONNY VAN DE BEEK is set to extend his Manchester United hell as Everton pulled out of a move for the £35million flop.
The Dutch midfielder, 24, had been on the verge of moving to Goodison Park in the summer only for a loan deal to crumble.
Then-United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was unwilling to allow Van de Beek to leave just a year after his mega-money move from Ajax.
But Everton director of football Marcel Brands was still keen to bring the Holland international to Goodison Park in January.
Toffees boss Rafa Benitez was apparently less keen on Van de Beek.
But with Brands leaving Everton with his transfer dealings questioned amid the club's woeful season, their interest in Van de Beek has ended, according to .
The Merseyside club will now look elsewhere to strengthen their struggling squad in the winter window.
New Man Utd boss Ralf Rangnick is set to give Van de Beek a chance at the club.

His preferred 4-2-2-2 formation could suit the Dutchman well.
However, he failed to take his chance in his first start under the German tactician in the 1-1 draw against Young Boys.
Van de Beek's blunder even led to the Swiss side's equaliser at Old Trafford.
Following his gaffe, the midfielder held his hands up and took full responsibility, telling MUTV: "I think first 30 minutes was OK.
"We made a good goal from Mason, after that we have a few chances to make it 2-0 or 3-0.
"We didn’t do that. I think if we’d done that it would have been much easier.
"Then 1-1. For me, lost the ball in the middle, maybe I should kick the ball away. I didn’t do that.
"I take my responsibility for that.
"And after that I think it was a little bit difficult. I think we didn’t get enough pressure on them, with the ball as well we lost too many balls and it’s really difficult to command the game."
