ABEL HERNANDEZ wrecked his record £20 million move to Aston Villa by asking for £100,000-a-week wages.

Uruguayan striker Hernandez was allowed to speak to the wealthy Championship outfit abut the biggest signing in second-tier history.

However Hernandez rocked Villa by asking for the huge salary if he helped them reach the Premier League.

Hernandez was also looking for around £70,000-a-week to play in the Championship this season, making him the top-paid player at the level.

Hull have been left frustrated too as they had been planning for Hernandez to go after he pushed for a move.

The Tigers have lined up several forward players with the cash and are now hurriedly changing their plans.
