Bastian Schweinsteiger tells Jose Mourinho his Manchester United career can still be resurrected despite becoming an outcast

German midfielder insists there's no bad blood between the pair and reveals he's 'dreaming' of another Old Trafford chance

MANCHESTER UNITED outcast Bastian Schweinsteiger has declared he is ready to play under new boss Jose Mourinho and insists the pair have ‘no personal problems’.

The German midfielder is a pariah at Old Trafford just a year after leaving Bayern Munich, with Mourinho exiling him from the senior squad earlier this summer.

But Schweinsteiger seems happy enough to see out the remaining two years of his lucrative contract in England despite reported interest from America and China.

The veteran’s unusual situation has irked former employers Bayern, although Carlo Ancelotti has ruled out a return to the Allianz Arena.

But Schweinsteiger is adamant there’s no bad blood with Mourinho, revealing he’s still dreaming of playing some role for the Red Devils this season despite the strong competition for places in the centre of the park.

The 32-year-old said: “My absolute dream would be to continue playing for Man Utd. I have no personal problems with Jose Mourinho.

“We had a good exchange, he explained his standpoint to me. I know what Manchester United want. But I also know what I want.

“You will have to wait and see what happens in September, October. It’s respectful between both parties.

“I will certainly not stop playing football. I still believe in my own ability. I could still help Man Utd if given the chance.”
