TOTTENHAM have joined the race to sign Manchester United and Newcastle transfer target Ousmane Dembele.
The 24-year-old Frenchman will become a free agent in the summer when his deal at the Nou Camp comes to an end.
And he will be available to talk to other clubs about signing a pre-contract agreement as early as January.
According to , Dembele's preference is to stay at Barcelona and fight for his place in the team.
Since arriving for £135.5million from Borussia Dortmund in 2017, the winger has managed just 30 goals and 21 assists in 121 games for the Spanish giants.
And problems with his knees and hamstring have seen him make just one substitute appearance in LaLiga so far this season.
But he is reportedly still keen to stay if a suitable deal can be reached between the club and his agent.
However, there is said to be a disparity in what Dembele wants and what the club are offering at this time.

As a result, he could be looking elsewhere for a move and a number of Premier League sides are said to be interested.
Man Utd and newly-rich Newcastle are two clubs linked with Dembele's services, but now Tottenham have entered the fray.
Spurs' football director Fabio Paratici is keen to sign the World Cup winner as he looks to bolster the squad for manager Antonio Conte.
Paratici was reportedly interested in bringing Dembele in when he worked with Conte at Juventus.
But now he is an even more enticing proposition as he looks set to be available for free in just six months time.
If he was to arrive through the doors of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium he would likely take the place of Lucas Moura on the right of a front three featuring Son Heung-min and Harry Kane.

Conte has already implemented his 3-4-3 style on Tottenham and they are unbeaten in three Premier League games since he arrived.
The Italian kicked things off with a goalless draw at Everton before back-to-back home victories against Leeds and Brentford.
But sandwiched in between that was a shambolic 2-1 defeat to Slovenian side NS Mura in the Europa Conference League.
