How Man Utd could line up against Arsenal with new manager Rangnick watching on as he awaits work visa

MANCHESTER UNITED could make two changes to their starting XI for Thursday’s clash against Arsenal.

The Red Devils battled for a 1-1 draw at Chelsea on Sunday under caretaker boss Michael Carrick.

However, the team selection - which saw Cristiano Ronaldo axed - looked to be heavily influenced by new interim manager Ralf Rangnick.

The German is still unavailable to take his place in the dugout tomorrow due to work permit reasons.

But he is sure to have his say again after United pressed successfully against the Blues.

That's despite being without injured quartet Luke Shaw, Raphael Varane, Paul Pogba and Edinson Cavani.

Likely to keep the same 4-3-1-2 system, the first change is sure to see captain Harry Maguire return in defence.

The centre-back was suspended for the trip to Stamford Bridge.

The other change will likely see Ronaldo return up front after his shock axe on Sunday.

That means one of Marcus Rashford or Jadon Sancho will be benched.

However, the latter could have a better chance of remaining in the team after scoring United’s sole goal in London.

An alternative line-up may see Rangnick and Carrick return to United’s familiar 4-2-3-1 formation.

That would allow Rashford and Sancho to retain their spots while also accommodating Ronaldo up front.

But one of the midfielders would need to drop out, with Nemanja Matic arguably most at risk due to his lack of mobility.
