Aguero said: “Pep has changed the way we have been playing.  He’s very demanding of me.

“I need to be the player who starts the pressure and the rest of my team-mates will  keep it up. I’m happy to do that.

“We have played just three games, so I’m still getting used to it. I need to keep improving even more.

“Also, his arrival is great because with his way of play I’ll have more chances to score and hopefully we will win more games.

“I always respect the style of play every manager has. I try to adapt myself as fast as possible. Pep has brought a way of play he has always used. We need to get used to it as soon as possible and I’m also enjoying the new concepts he’s teaching us.”

Aguero says Guardiola is making City enjoy their football after flopping in the League last season.

He said: “What he tells me is to make me a better player.

“I need to keep working to achieve something important.

“It’s just the beginning. He hopes to achieve something big.

“He’s a very cheerful manager, he’s always talking to you, cheering you up and pushing you.

“You can tell he loves football, he loves his job.”

Aguero has been given a tailored fitness programme to ensure he doesn’t get injured after a patchy record at the Etihad.

Guardiola said: “He was always out three or four months. We’re going to try to avoid that.”
