‘Can we do anything right this season?’ – Norwich fans not impressed as club unveil new crest for next season
NORWICH fans are not happy with the modernised new-look crest which will replace their current one at the start of next season.
The new crest, which features redesigned versions of the traditional lion, castle, canary and football, has been slated by fans following the big reveal.

One fan commented: "Are you going to do anything right this season?"
Someone else then added: "Did a 5 year old do it?"
Whilst another said: "Get rid. This is horrific."
One fan was particularly unimpressed, saying: "Wtf is that. Might as well have left the old traditional one as it was."
And another hilariously noted: "Looks like it’s been designed by an IT year 9 student trying to match the old one on a free computer design software."
A small minority were happy with the change though, with one fan suggesting: "This is a nice development, really clean design and the illustrations are definitely more elegant than the current crest."

Another added: "When this dropped last night, I didn't quite know what I thought about it. I've looked at it several times since then and it's grown on me and I actually like it. Well done."
Some supporters were also devastated to see that their traditional lion swapped for a new design, while some took the opportunity to turn it into a meme.

The new crest has also had the black borders from the current version removed, and the ball has been repositioned at the centre of the design.
Norwich commercial director Sam Jeffery said: “This is a huge moment in the history of Norwich City Football Club and a real statement of intent for the future.
"For the first time in 50 years the club will adopt a newly evolved crest, fit for digital purpose, iconic and most importantly accessible for all.
“It’s a project two years in the making and one that has been treated with the utmost sensitivity and care by those lucky enough to have been involved within the club’s working group.
“Having garnered feedback from numerous stakeholders, both internally and externally, it was always going to be an evolution and not a revolution.
"We’re extremely proud of the outcome.”
WINNING RUN
The Canaries earned their second win in a row with a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Southampton in their first game under new manager Dean Smith.
Smith, 50, was appointed Norwich boss earlier this month following the sacking of Daniel Farke after four years in charge at Carrow Road.
Norwich had lost ten of their opening 13 games and sat rock bottom of the Premier League when Farke, 45, was given his marching orders.
But two wins in a row has lifted them up to 19th at the expense of Newcastle and last year's Championship winners are now three points from safety.
The former Aston Villa boss will hope to turn the club's fortunes around and survive what is gearing up to be a tough relegation scrap this season.

If Smith's Norwich are able to retain their Premier League status, it will be the first time the club have done so since 2012-13, when they finished 11th.
But as it stands, the Canaries could be set to debut their controversial new crest in the Championship next season, after a tricky start to life back in the top flight.
