At just 19 and 20 years old respectively, Mourinho wanted the pair to gain more game experience - but also declared his high regard for them.

The Portuguese said: "I love Andreas Pereira, I love him as a kid, but I don't have him, he is going to Granada to play.

"I like Cameron very much but he is going to Wolves to play. These are the kind of decisions every club does."

So far this summer, Mourinho has overseen the sales of the likes of Nick Powell to Wigan - who went on a free - Ashley Fletcher to West Ham, Paddy McNair and Donald Love to Sunderland and Tyler Blackett to Reading.

Meanwhile Adnan Januzaj's career remains in the balance after a loan to Sunderland, with Guillermo Varela loaned to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Meanwhile Mourinho admitted the future of Bastian Schweinsteiger lay with the player, as he responded to criticism from Bayern Munich's chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
