JESSE LINGARD appears to be nearing the Manchester United exit door after talks over a contract extension collapsed.

The 28-year-old forward's current deal expires in the summer but he allegedly has ‘no intention’ of restarting negotiations.

That is due to his frustration at United’s behaviour during discussions earlier this season, according to .

The first offer made to the England international was worth less than his current package.

He now looks set to walk away from Old Trafford for nothing in June and is also believed to be considering asking to leave on loan in January for the last six months of his contract due to a lack of action.

SunSport previously revealed how he could leave United for £10million in January – less than half the price they valued him at in the summer.

When West Ham tried to sign him in the last window, after a successful loan move, United insisted they wanted £25m.

That was £7m more than the Hammers were willing to pay and Lingard himself was keen to prove he still had a future at United.

But after only eight appearances – and a solitary start in the League Cup – the attacker is no nearer to winning a regular slot, and has dragged his heels over signing a new deal.

Lingard has continued to train hard and has not been putting the pressure on for a move, with his contract up this season.

Yet United will let him go now, if they can get £10m when the window reopens, even if that means selling to a top four rival in West Ham.

Lingard has a good relationship with Hammers chief David Moyes.

And he is desperate to play, with the World Cup only a year away.

United are hoping Newcastle show an interest, allowing them to hike the price a little, because of his homegrown status.
