LUCAS Perez will sign a four-year deal at Arsenal today after triggering his £17.1m Deportivo release clause.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has spent the summer trying to buy a striker before finally agreeing to sign the 27-year-old yesterday.

He had hoped to pay Perez’s release fee in two instalments – which was rejected by Deportivo.

But Wenger decided he needed to get a forward in before next week’s transfer deadline and agreed to pay the amount in full.

An Emirates insider revealed: “Arsenal have been scouting Perez for way over a year and have watched him many times.

He will also have a medical, and start to look for a house for him and his family in the capital.
