Arsenal transfer news: Lucas Perez to sign four-year deal today after Gunners trigger £17.1m Deportivo release clause
The 27-year-old Spanish ace will have a medical today after terms were agreed
LUCAS Perez will sign a four-year deal at Arsenal today after triggering his £17.1m Deportivo release clause.
He had hoped to pay Perez’s release fee in two instalments – which was rejected by Deportivo.
But Wenger decided he needed to get a forward in before next week’s transfer deadline and agreed to pay the amount in full.
An Emirates insider revealed: “Arsenal have been scouting Perez for way over a year and have watched him many times.
“He was always on the list of players Arsene was looking at bringing in this summer.”
It is thought Perez flew into London last night, and will sign his deal today along with taking official club photos.
He will also have a medical, and start to look for a house for him and his family in the capital.
Perez scored an impressive 18 goals in 37 appearances for Deportivo last season after joining them in 2015 before PAOK.
