Tottenham transfer news: Nabil Bentaleb completes season-long loan to Schalke with view to permanent £17m transfer

NABIL BENTALEB has completed his season-long loan move to Schalke from Tottenham, with a view to a permanent £17million transfer.

The Algeria international confirmed the move on Twitter, writing that he was "delighted to have signed for Schalke new beginnings."

The 21-year-old had fallen out of favour with manager Mauricio Pochettino, with the player training with the club's Under-21s since returning to pre-season.

Tottenham boss Pochettino revealed in July that Bentaleb, who had also been linked with Newcastle, was not in his plans for the new season – nor was Federico Fazio and Alex Pritchard.
