Manchester United flop Bastian Schweinsteiger’s fate was already decided before Jose Mourinho arrived, claim reports
Senior players blasted German - who is training with reserves - under Louis van Gaal for globetrotting to watch tennis star wife Ana Ivanovic in action
BASTIAN SCHWEINSTEIGER’S Manchester United fate was sealed BEFORE Jose Mourinho arrived at Old Trafford, it has been claimed.
The German midfielder has been thrown on the scrapheap by the new boss and is free to leave on a cut-price fee.
Former club Bayern Munich and the star’s brother have slammed United for being disrespectful towards the veteran playmaker after Mourinho forced him to train with the reserves.
Some have questioned the decision to drop Schweinsteiger, 32, before a ball was kicked.
But claims Mourinho had already made his mind up after being made aware of a row from Louis van Gaal time in charge.
Players were furious with the injured midfielder going AWOL during rehab for a knee injury.
The German World Cup suffered ligament damage in the 2-1 defeat against England in March.
And instead of working on his recovery at Carrington, he was regularly pictured with his glamorous WAG, tennis player Ana Ivanovic, in various European destinations.
It is club policy for non-playing squad members to attend matches and Schweiny was flying in and out from Germany on matchdays.
Schweinsteiger has told Manchester United fans he will not play for any other club in Europe – hinting he could move to the MLS or China.
